The road to Africa’s premier squash showdown is open after the official launch of the Africa Squash Senior Championship 2025 at Lugogo Copper Chimney in Kampala.
Uganda’s seasoned stars, including Coutts Muhenda, Simon Kajubu, Gus Lusiba, Derek Banyu, and Ssalongo Johnson Mujabi, turned up for the colorful ceremony, each voicing excitement at the tournament’s return to the city.
Team Uganda received a timely boost as national coach Derek Banyu was confirmed as Head Technical for the campaign. “We have the talent and the determination to compete with Africa’s best. This championship is a great opportunity to showcase Ugandan squash,” Banyu said.
The continental event will run from 17 to 22 November 2025, drawing elite players from across Africa for six days of high-intensity action and sportsmanship.
