Netball Uganda has unveiled Dr. Manoj Joshi as its Director for International Partnerships and Sponsorships, a move aimed at boosting the sport’s growth and global reach.
The appointment was confirmed during a dinner in Kampala, where Dr. Joshi, a UK-based Ugandan Indian pharmacist and philanthropist, formally accepted the role.
Though the news was made public this week, he has quietly been on the job since February, already opening talks with key partners and potential sponsors.
Dr. Joshi’s mandate goes beyond raising funds. He plans to secure academic opportunities for Ugandan players by linking them to scholarship programs at top UK universities, a strategy designed to help athletes build careers both on and off the court.
The She Cranes, Uganda’s national team, are set to benefit most from the new partnerships as they prepare for the Celtic Cup in Scotland this November.
