Newcastle United have cancelled over 100 season tickets and apologized to fans after discovering an “oversight” that allowed a group of tour organizers to resell tickets.
This action follows an incident where a school from Dundee was able to purchase 45 tickets for a high-demand Champions League match against Barcelona, even as 110,000 fans were in an online queue.
The club stated the issue arose from an old, informal agreement with the organizers that was not ended when new ownership took over four years ago.
The club has returned the seats to the official ballot for other fans.
