Months after the final whistle, the standout performers finally received recognition, proving that in Ugandan football, sometimes excellence has to wait its turn.

Vipers SC’s Allan Okello finally got his Golden Boot, scoring 19 goals in 30 appearances, with four assists to his name and five Man of the Match awards. One can only imagine the patience he had to muster as he waited months for the applause he had earned back in May.
Aliro’s Creative Brilliance Takes Its Time
URA FC’s Moses Aliro Okabo also saw his efforts belatedly rewarded with the Assist King title. In just 22 games, he set up eight goals and scored four himself, earning two Man of the Match awards, all of which apparently required a long wait for official recognition.
Kusiima’s Wall of Steel Finally Gets Noticed
Kitara FC goalkeeper Chrispas Kusiima claimed the Golden Glove after keeping 16 clean sheets in 27 matches. While he was busy stopping goals months ago, the league took its sweet time applauding his defensive heroics.
The awards may have arrived fashionably late, but they still underline the talent lighting up the Uganda Premier League. And perhaps next season, fans and players alike can hope that brilliance will be celebrated without a four-month intermission.
