Christian Horner has officially left his role as Red Bull’s team principal, receiving a massive €60m (£52m) severance payment. The settlement is one of the largest in sports history.
Horner, who led the team to multiple championships since 2005, was sacked in July after a controversial period marked by sexual harassment allegations and a significant decline in the team’s performance.
The scandal led to a power struggle and the departures of key figures, including renowned designer Adrian Newey.
Ultimately, a poor performance at the British Grand Prix cost Horner the support of the main shareholder, leading to his dismissal.
He and Red Bull have both released statements thanking each other for their time together.
