betPawa Donates UGX 10 Million to Corporate Run 2025 to Support Safer Childbirth

Sports betting company betPawa has announced a sponsorship of UGX 10 million towards the upcoming Corporate Run 2025, a charity-driven event dedicated to improving maternal healthcare across Uganda.

The run, now in its second edition, will be held on 12th October 2025 at NEC FC Grounds, Bugolobi, under the theme “Run for Expectant Mothers.”

Organized by the Corporate Games in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the event will gather thousands of corporate participants for a day of fitness, networking, and advocacy around non-communicable diseases, while directly supporting expectant mothers in underserved communities.

Proceeds from the run will be used to purchase mama kits, each valued at UGX 50,000, to ensure safer deliveries for mothers in need. The support comes at a critical time, with statistics revealing that 16 women in Uganda lose their lives every day due to pregnancy-related complications.

Speaking at the announcement, Borah Ndanyungu, betPawa’s Head of Local Marketing & CSR, emphasized the company’s dedication to saving lives through community initiatives

“At betPawa, we believe no woman should lose her life while giving life. By supporting this initiative, we are proud to stand alongside thousands of Ugandans to ensure expectant mothers receive the care and dignity they deserve. This is what community empowerment through sport is all about.”

The sponsorship cheque was officially presented by betPawa’s license partner, Allan Tumushabe, who echoed the company’s commitment.

“We’re proud to support the Corporate Run because it proves that when we come together, whether on the track or off it, we can make a real difference.”

This marks the second consecutive year betPawa is backing the Corporate Run. The company will also field a team to actively participate in the event.

With over 5,000 runners expected, the 2025 edition is set to be the largest so far, cementing the Corporate Run as one of Uganda’s leading cause-driven sporting events.

betPawa’s continued support highlights its long-term commitment to community development and its belief in the power of sport to drive positive change.
