Patrick Jonah Kakande has silenced weeks of transfer talk by signing a new two-year contract with SC Villa, keeping one of Uganda’s brightest young talents in blue and white through 2027.
The winger, the 2023/24 season’s Uganda Premier League Most Valuable Player, had been linked with rivals Vipers SC and several overseas clubs.
But Villa confirmed on Monday that their star man will stay put as they push to challenge for the title.
Kakande joined Villa from Uganda Martyrs High School and has since grown into a key figure for the Jogoos. His pace and sharp finishing drove their 2023/24 championship run and made him a fan favourite.
His performances also earned him call-ups to the Uganda Cranes, including standout showings at the 2024 CHAN tournament under Morley Byekwaso.
