Hoima City Stadium is just about ready for handover, with only a handful of final installations standing between the $129 million project and completion.
Fresh images from the site show a fully illuminated arena at night and a polished interior that underscores the stadium’s readiness.
According to the latest update, the remaining work includes installing seats in the 2,000-capacity indoor arena and applying finishing touches to the semi-Olympic swimming pool and outdoor courts.
The athletics track in the main 20,000-seater stadium will also receive its official markings soon, a task to be handled by World Athletics officials.
Contractor Summa has already completed roofing across the complex, including the indoor arena, while floodlights and other systems are fully operational.
These milestones keep the project firmly on course for an early completion ahead of the October 2025 handover target.
The Hoima City Stadium is central to Uganda’s preparations to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations and is funded entirely by oil revenues.
Beyond football, the venue will host athletics, rugby, and a variety of indoor sports, promising a major boost for tourism and economic activity in the Albertine region.
