Harry Kane shattered a European record on Friday, scoring twice in Bayern Munich’s 4-0 win over Werder Bremen to reach 100 club goals in just 104 games.
The England captain is now the fastest player this century to hit the century mark for a club in Europe’s top five leagues, surpassing the previous record of 105 games held by Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland.
The goals—a penalty before half-time and a close-range finish in the 65th minute—helped Bundesliga leaders Bayern maintain their perfect start to the season. Luis Díaz and Konrad Laimer added the other goals.
Kane, who also recently became the fastest player to 70 Bundesliga goals (67 games), quickly dismissed transfer speculation linking him to Tottenham and Manchester United, confirming his commitment to the German club.
“I’m really happy here. I have two years left on my contract… That is not in my thought process,” Kane stated.
The performance earned high praise from manager Vincent Kompany and experts, who highlighted Kane’s selflessness and hard work off the ball.
German football expert Raphael Honigstein suggested the striker is already considered by some to be the best in Bayern’s history, surpassing even Robert Lewandowski.
