Global superstar Bad Bunny is officially set to headline the Super Bowl LXI Half-Time Show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on February 8th.
The 31-year-old Puerto Rican artist (real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio), a three-time Grammy winner and three-time Spotify most-streamed artist, confirmed the news with a statement emphasizing the cultural significance.
“This is for my people, my culture, and our history,” he said, adding in Spanish, “Go tell your grandma we’re going to be the Super Bowl half-time show.”
The announcement follows a historic period for the star, whose 2022 album, Un Verano Sin Ti, was the first all-Spanish language US number-one album.
His selection comes after he recently voiced concerns about touring the US due to potential ICE raids on fans at his concerts, making his Super Bowl appearance a highly anticipated and significant event.
