Tottenham forward Dominic Solanke has had “minor surgery” to resolve a nagging ankle injury, confirmed by Spurs boss Thomas Frank.
The 28-year-old England international is now ruled out of Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Bodo/Glimt and Saturday’s Premier League match against Leeds.
Frank called it a “small procedure” and indicated the striker’s absence should be brief, stating, “I don’t expect it to be long.” The club will provide a clearer return timeframe after the upcoming international break.
Solanke, whose last appearance was on August 23, had missed most of pre-season with the same ankle issue.
Manager Thomas Frank defended the decision to have the surgery now, stating the club believed it was the right time.
