Record league champions SC Villa have further strengthened their frontline with the capture of youthful striker Jerome Otim, who joins from Buweekula Ssaza on a three–year contract.
Otim, who has been among the revelations of this season’s Masaza Cup, will now don the famous blue jersey of the Jogoos as he takes the next step in his budding career.
“I want to win trophies and be part of the history of the great club. This is one of the biggest clubs in Uganda and Africa. It’s a privilege for me to join the Jogoos. I am here to work hard and make the Jogoos faithful love the club even more,” Otim declared after sealing the deal.
The attacker’s rise has been steady. Starting out at Lira Sports Academy, he progressed into the KCCA FC Junior Team system before earning senior football exposure with Proline at regional level.
His flair and end product became more pronounced at Buweekula, where his goals and creative spark powered the Ssaza side into the knockout phase of the Masaza Cup.
Villa’s transfer business this window has been notably active. Alongside Otim, they have recruited Frank Ssebufu, Ibrahim Kasinde, David Lukwago, and Ali Bayo, while also securing key man Patrick Jonah Kakande on an extended contract, a signal of intent from the 17–time champions.
