The Women’s National Basketball League semifinal series between JKL Lady Dolphins and UCU Lady Canons resumes tonight, Wednesday, October 8, at the Lugogo Indoor Arena, live on NBS Sport.
Game Three tips off at 7 pm, with both sides tied 1–1 after JKL’s crucial 59–51 victory on Tuesday night that reignited their title defense.
After losing Game One 57–46, the defending champions responded with authority. Brenda Ekone led with 16 points and a decisive fourth-quarter run, while Hope Akello matched her tally and anchored the defense.
UCU’s Marina Anyango fought back with 13 points and 12 rebounds, but JKL’s composure in the closing stages ensured the series stayed alive.
Tonight’s clash is set to be a test of endurance and execution. UCU, chasing a record-extending ninth title, will seek to reclaim control, while JKL aim to build on Tuesday’s momentum as they target a sixth straight women’s finals appearance.
Meanwhile, Game Three of the second women’s semifinal between JT Lady Jaguars and Magic Stormers will be played tomorrow, Independence Day, at 4 pm at Lugogo.
The Jaguars lead 2–0 and are one win away from sweeping the series to reach their first-ever finals.
A Stormers victory would force a Game Four on Friday at 9 pm, to be played after the JKL-UCU Game Four, which could prove decisive depending on tonight’s result.
