AKELLO HOPE SHINES WITH FIRST TRIPLE DOUBLE OF THE NBL 2024 SEASON
Akello Hope of JKL Lady Dolphins made history in the National Basketball League yesterday, securing the first triple-double of the 2024 season.
Hope’s outstanding performance included 11 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists, showcasing her all-around impact on the court.
In another remarkable display, Ekone Brenda, last season’s top scorer, lit up the game with a season-high 33 points, leading JKL Lady Dolphins to a convincing 78-56 victory over Magic Stormers.
On the men’s side, Ndibu Christian of Ndejje Angels delivered an impressive performance with over 20 points and 20 rebounds, marking a significant achievement early into the season.
Despite Christian’s stellar play, City Oil managed to secure a narrow 83-75 win over Ndejje Angels in a tightly contested game.
In the thrilling Ndejje – Oilers encounter, eight players reached double digits, showcasing an intense and competitive matchup.
Notable players from both teams included Tonny Drileba, Titus Lual, Okello James, and Fayed Baale from City Oil, as well as James Obrack, Cikom Monybai, Christian Ndibu, and Jonathan Oketch from Ndejje Angels.
