Ghana secured her place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after Mohammed Kudus netted the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory over Comoros on Sunday.
The Tottenham forward’s 47th-minute tap-in, assisted by Thomas Partey, was enough to seal the win at the Accra Sports Stadium, confirming the Black Stars as Group I winners with 25 points.
The result, coupled with Madagascar’s 4-1 loss to Mali, guaranteed Ghana’s fifth World Cup appearance in the last six tournaments.
Ghana becomes the fifth African nation to qualify, joining Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia.
The qualification offers atonement for Otto Addo’s side after they failed to reach the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where their opponents, Comoros, will feature.
The victory was a crucial reversal, given Comoros had beaten Ghana in their previous two encounters.
