The National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda (NUDIPU) has launched the Advocacy Day Run 2025, a fundraising campaign aimed at restoring mobility and dignity for amputees across the country.
Scheduled for November 9 at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds, the charity run will feature 2km, 5km, and 10km races open to all participants eager to support the cause.
Proceeds will go toward the purchase of 200 artificial limbs for Ugandans who have lost theirs due to road accidents, cancer, or other medical complications.
According to NUDIPU, each artificial limb costs about UGX 4 million, making community support critical in achieving the target.
The organization said the run isn’t just about fitness but about giving back and empowering people to reclaim their independence.
NUDIPU appealed to individuals, companies, and organizations to participate and contribute, saying every step taken in the run will directly help transform lives.
