The Uganda Parliamentary Sports Team has announced it is fully prepared to defend its overall championship at the 2025 East Africa Parliamentary Games, set to take place this December on home soil.
The annual tournament brings together lawmakers from seven East African countries to compete in a variety of sports, including football, netball, basketball, volleyball, athletics, and the ever-popular tug of war.
With the advantage of competing at home and months of focused preparation, Team Uganda is determined to maintain its dominance both on and off the field.
For the legislators, the games are an opportunity to strengthen regional unity and cooperation, demonstrating that politics and sports can share the same platform for purpose.
Organizers say the event is designed to foster friendship, mutual understanding, and East African integration among legislators, creating bonds that extend beyond the playing fields.
