Football is mourning the passing of Angeyango Scovia, a respected delegate to the FUFA Assembly and Chief Executive Officer of Lady Doves FC.
Angeyango, who served as a representative of the National Women Football Leagues since 2021, was remembered as a passionate leader deeply committed to the growth of women’s football in Uganda.
She had recently been re-elected for the 2025–2029 term, a sign of the confidence her peers had in her leadership and dedication.
FUFA President Hon. Magogo Moses Hassim described Angeyango as a “young and dedicated woman who loved football so much.” He noted that her absence would be felt across the football community, especially within the FUFA Assembly, Lady Doves FC, the Kitara Region Football Association, and the broader women’s football fraternity.
“Her contributions were immeasurable. She believed in giving back to the game and was always supportive of women’s football,” Magogo said.
Beyond her administrative roles, Angeyango also served on the FUFA TV Cup Organising Committee and had recently been on assignment in Gulu, where St. Joseph’s College Layibi hosted the tournament.
In a statement, FUFA extended condolences to her family, friends, Lady Doves FC, the Uganda Women Football Association, and all those who worked closely with her.
