Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has been given a one-match touchline ban and an £8,000 fine after being sent off for celebrating his team’s last-gasp winner against Liverpool.
The Italian received a second yellow card from referee Anthony Taylor for leaving his technical area to celebrate Estevao Willian’s 95th-minute goal against the reigning champions.
Maresca had previously been booked for dissent earlier in the game.
The Football Association (FA) charged Maresca with acting “in an improper manner,” a charge the 45-year-old admitted, accepting the standard penalty.
The ban means Maresca will miss Chelsea’s upcoming Premier League fixture away to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, with assistant coach Willy Caballero set to take charge.
This marks Maresca’s second touchline suspension since taking over at Stamford Bridge in June 2024.
