Leandro Trossard’s second-half goal secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory for table-topping Arsenal against Fulham at Craven Cottage, moving the Gunners three points clear.
The Belgian’s 58th-minute winner came from a trademark set-piece—a flicked-on Bukayo Saka corner—marking Arsenal’s 50th set-piece goal since the start of the 2022-23 season.
The victory highlighted the “teak-tough strength and character” of Mikel Arteta’s side, who have now won five consecutive matches and conceded only three goals all season.
Arteta praised his team’s collective effort and defensive foundation, noting they did not concede a shot on target and that goals are coming from “different ways” and ten different players so far this term.
Despite a lively performance from Fulham, including chances for Harry Wilson and Josh King, they could not break through. Manager Marco Silva admitted Arsenal were “a tough side to play against.”
Arsenal now look ahead to European action, hosting Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
