Ferrari Team Principal Fred Vasseur has embraced the public vote of confidence from chairman John Elkann, which followed rumours linking Red Bull’s Christian Horner to Vasseur’s role.
The speculation arose after Ferrari underperformed championship expectations this season.
Ahead of the recent United States Grand Prix, Elkann issued a statement to quell the rumours, expressing “full confidence” in Vasseur and urging the team to focus on performance.
Vasseur acknowledged the message after the Austin race, saying it was beneficial for “third parties and external targets” to stop the speculation.
He noted that he and Elkann were already in constant contact, and the public statement served mainly to “stop the discussion and focus on the next [topic]” for the team.
With the rumours addressed, Ferrari’s focus returns to the track, starting with the Mexican Grand Prix on October 26th.
