SMACK League Blends Football, Charity, and Carnival Fun for Matchday Three

The SMACK League, powered by Guinness, returns this Sunday, October 26, for Matchday Three at the IUEA Sports Ground in Kansanga, bringing together football, music, and a touch of generosity in one colorful package.

This edition isn’t just about goals and bragging rights. It carries a strong message of giving back as the league partners with the Kuliva Foundation for a clothing donation campaign.

Fans, players, and visitors are encouraged to bring pre-loved clothes that will be collected and later donated to underprivileged communities.

According to David Kawooya, the league’s Chief Marketing Officer, the drive is about using football to create a wider impact.
“We’re using the power of community and sport to make a difference in people’s lives,” Kawooya said. “This partnership with Kuliva Foundation lets us extend our reach and touch lives. We’re asking everyone attending to come with a generous heart and something to give.”

The CSR push fits right into the carnival vibe that will dominate the day. The dress code is floral, the beats will be lively, and Guinness will keep spirits high throughout. Expect a mix of high-energy performances, music from top DJs, and loads of entertainment both on and off the pitch.

On the football side, the action looks fierce. Knights and Vikings will set the tone as both sides hunt their first win of the campaign, while Bushmen take on Zuluz in an early Pool A clash. Past champions Window and Zimbaz face off looking to bounce back from disappointing results, and Spartans are eyeing a maiden league win against Lycans.

Defending champions Alks meet in-form Elite in what could be the day’s blockbuster, while Mama Teo Legends face OutKasts in a battle of confidence after both won last time out. Hosts Vendorz meet Tsunamiz in the inter-pool fixture, Cyclones face Mafiaz, Gladiators try to stay perfect against Vulcanz, and Block Owners take on Devilz. The round wraps up with Phantoms facing Pirates in a clash of unbeaten sides.

Off the pitch, fans can dive into e-sports racing, boxing, ludo, and other fun games, with music from DJ LB and DJ Ashaba, plus a surprise live act to keep the energy flowing.

Mercy Atwongyeire, Project Manager for Premium Beer at Uganda Breweries Limited, said Guinness feels right at home in such an event.

“SMACK League perfectly captures the energy and community spirit that Guinness stands for,” she said. “This edition, with the clothing drive and carnival theme, shows how sport and community can create something both meaningful and memorable.”

With football, fashion, charity, and festivity all in one, Matchday Three of the SMACK League is set to be more than a Sunday out—it’s shaping up to be a full-on experience of colour, camaraderie, and community.
