Few Ugandan footballers command the spotlight quite like Allan Okello. The Vipers SC talisman has evolved into one of the most captivating figures in East African football, a technically gifted playmaker whose flair, vision, and end product have redefined creativity in the Ugandan Premier League.

Salary and Contract

Okello’s return to Ugandan football came with a significant financial package that underlines his star power. While there’s no official information about how much he earns, it’s believed he’s one of the top earners in Ugandan football.

As part of his signing terms, per multiple reports Okello pocketed over Ugx.100m as sign-on bonus at the start of the 2023/24 season, for a three-year deal.

Okello’s stock has soared steadily throughout his career. According to Transfermarkt, his market value currently stands at €500,000 (about Ugx. 2 billion), the highest of his professional journey, a testament to his consistency and growing influence in Ugandan and African football circles.

Career Path

Born and raised in Lira, Okello’s journey from a schoolboy prodigy to a continental name is a tale of sheer dedication and talent.

His breakthrough came at KCCA FC, where his debut performance, netting a hat-trick against Onduparaka FC in 2017, instantly announced him as one of Uganda’s brightest prospects.

After lighting up the domestic scene, Okello earned a move to Paradou AC in Algeria in 2020, a vital spell that exposed him to a more tactical and physical brand of football.

Following his stint in North Africa, Okello made a celebrated return home, first on loan with KCCA before sealing a permanent move to Vipers SC.

Since then, he’s flourished as the creative heartbeat of the side, driving their ambitions both domestically and in CAF competitions.

On the team front, he has been instrumental to Vipers, as he guided them to the Uganda Premier League and Uganda Cup last season. He also won two Uganda Premier League titles and as many Uganda Cups for KCCA, cementing his place among the most influential footballers of his generation.

From a gifted youngster in northern Uganda to one of the highest-paid and most marketable players in East Africa, Allan Okello’s story is one of ambition, evolution, and excellence.
