Keys was plagued by errors, unable to cope with the relentless pace of the Pole.

Later, Rybakina delivered a serving masterclass against American Amanda Anisimova, winning 6-3, 6-1 in only 57 minutes.

The 2022 Wimbledon champion hit seven aces and won a remarkable 87% of points on her first serve to secure the statement win.

The top eight women’s players are competing for a record £12 million ($15.5 million) prize fund.

Action continues Sunday with the Stefanie Graf Group, featuring top seed Aryna Sabalenka and French Open champion Coco Gauff.
