Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has reignited his criticism of Manchester United, stating the club is “not in a good path” despite managerial changes and significant spending.
In an interview with Piers Morgan, the 40-year-old Portuguese forward, who left United in 2022, offered a blunt assessment of his former teammate, manager Ruben Amorim.
“He’s doing his best,” Ronaldo said. “What are you going to do? Miracles? Miracles is impossible.”
Amorim’s side finished a disappointing 15th last season and, despite climbing to eighth from 14th this term, Ronaldo believes the problems run deeper than the coach or players, arguing that some recent £250m signings “don’t have in mind what Manchester United is.”
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner concluded that “they need to change and it’s not only about the coach and players, in my opinion.”
