Ismaila Sarr is proving the perfect replacement for Eberechi Eze, bagging a double to lead Crystal Palace to a vital 3-1 victory over AZ Alkmaar in the Conference League.
The win marked the club’s first-ever home victory in the competition, reinforcing their status as title contenders. Sarr, signed for £12.5m, now has eight goals in 15 games, including four in his last three appearances.
The forward was an unrelenting threat, hitting the post and winning a penalty before scoring just before half-time and sealing the win later.
Former Palace defender Joel Ward hailed Sarr’s “hot form,” while manager Oliver Glasner praised the “important player’s” pace and great runs.
