Middlesbrough have agreed terms with Wolverhampton Wanderers for Head Coach Rob Edwards to join the Premier League club, less than six months after signing a three-year contract.
Boro confirmed the news just hours before their match against Birmingham City, stating they were “disappointed” to learn Edwards wanted to speak with the struggling Premier League side, who are currently bottom of the top flight.
Middlesbrough initially rejected Wolves’ approach but ultimately agreed to his departure.
Edwards leaves Boro sitting third in the Championship table, though they are currently without a win in their last three games.
First team coaches Adi Viveash and Harry Watling, along with Academy Manager Craig Liddle, will take charge of the team for today’s game at the Riverside Stadium.
