The Uganda Boxing Champions League (UBCL) returns with high stakes on November 15, featuring a fierce featherweight main event between Patrick Ambayo and Innocent Amoko at the NCS Arena in Lugogo.
With only two outings left before the grand finale of Season 4, Week 15 promises fireworks as the two fighters from the Luo community battle for both pride and supremacy.
The duel has already sparked massive anticipation across boxing circles, with fans eager to see who will emerge as the king of West Nile.
Ambayo, known for his power and aggression, has been clear about what the fight means to him. “Amoko, my brother, on that day there will be no shortcuts. These issues are now for the clan — and we shall see who remains standing,” he said, exuding confidence.
The hard-hitting featherweight added, “I am ready. Amoko needs to know I am not scared. They say he never falls, but on that day, with me in the ring, he will fall. We shall know who the king of West Nile is.”
Amoko, calm and composed, said his focus goes beyond this single bout. “I am not just training for Ambayo. I am preparing for international competitions like the Olympics,” he remarked, hinting at his broader ambitions.
Ambayo, however, was quick to respond. “Let him prepare — because I am an animal in that ring. He must be ready. On that day, he is going to receive fire from Ambayo.”
The verbal exchanges have built up what many now call the “Battle for Luo Pride,” a fight that transcends the ropes. “Amoko, we are brothers — but when the gloves go on, you become my enemy. We shall box, and whoever wins, the clan will decide,” Ambayo declared.
As UBCL edges toward its Boxing Day climax, the Ambayo–Amoko clash stands out as one of the most emotionally charged encounters of the season — a true fight for pride, honor, and legacy.
