Uganda’s Jemimah Nakawala has advanced to the quarterfinals of the women’s singles table tennis competition at the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, following a strong run of performances.
Nakawala, who has shown impressive form throughout the tournament, will face Egypt’s Yousra Ashraf Abdelrazek on Wednesday evening in a high-stakes clash that could see her move into the semifinals.
Uganda’s men’s and women’s teams also reached the quarterfinals in the team categories before bowing out after spirited displays.
Attention now turns to the doubles and mixed doubles events, where Ugandan players remain in contention for medals.
