Spain took a huge step towards qualifying for the 2026 World Cup with a dominant 4-0 victory over Georgia in Tbilisi on Saturday.
The result means Spain remains top of Group E with a perfect record (five wins, 19 goals scored, zero conceded).
Mikel Oyarzabal led the attack with a brace (11′ penalty, 63′), while Martín Zubimendi (22′) and Ferran Torres (34′) also found the net in the convincing win.
The 2010 world champions are now three points clear of second-placed Turkey heading into their final match on Tuesday.
With a massive goal difference advantage, Spain needs only to avoid a mathematically improbable seven-goal loss at home to Turkey to secure automatic qualification for the tournament in North America.
