Spain clinched automatic qualification for the 2026 World Cup, finishing top of Group E, after a tense 2-2 draw against Turkey in Seville.
La Roja took an early lead through Dani Olmo (4′), but their clean sheet record for the campaign was ended when Deniz Gul (42′) equalized just before halftime.
Turkey then stunned the hosts by taking the lead through Salih Ozcan (54′). However, Mikel Oyarzabal (62′) quickly responded, tapping in a rebound to restore parity.
The draw extends Spain’s unbeaten run in competitive internationals to 30 matches. Turkey’s valiant effort secures them a play-off spot.
