The 2025 CAF Awards ceremony in Rabat, Morocco, was marked by a commanding performance from Moroccan football, with Uganda also represented on the podium.
Morocco swept the top individual honours as Achraf Hakimi (PSG) was named Men’s African Footballer of the Year and Ghizlane Chebbak (Al Hilal) took the Women’s prize.
Notable absentees on the winners list included South African stars Ronwen Williams of Mamelodi Sundowns and Tylon Smith of Queens Park Rangers who both missed out on their respective awards.
Ronwen Williams was dethroned as Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year by Morocco’s Yassine Bounou.
Mamelodi Sundowns lost the Club of the Year award to Egyptian side Pyramids FC.
