Uganda’s Victoria Pearls have opened their campaign at the inaugural ICC Women’s T20 Emerging Nations Trophy in Bangkok, Thailand, with a defeat to Scotland.
Scotland beat Uganda by 15 runs in the match in which all allotted overs were played at the Terdthai Cricket Ground on Thursday morning.
Scotland won the toss and opted to bat, setting a total of 115 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the first innings. This was led by Darcey Carter’s 54 off 50 balls.
Their bowling unit defended that score in the second innings, restricting Uganda to a century for the loss of 6 wickets. Immaculate Nakisuyi’s knock registered 36 off 42 with four boundaries.

Despite missing out on crucial ranking points, the score will put a bit of a smile on the Victoria Pearls who were facing off against a higher-ranked ODI nation.
