Pressure is intensifying on Liverpool manager Arne Slot after the club’s 4-1 Champions League defeat to PSV Eindhoven capped their worst run in 71 years—nine losses in 12 games.
Despite the slump, Slot insists his post-match talks with the club’s ownership group were the “same conversations” he has had since his arrival, adding: “We fight on.”
Sources indicate Slot’s job is not under imminent threat. He retains the backing of the hierarchy, having delivered the Premier League title in his debut season and overseen a £450m summer rebuild.
The reigning league champions are currently 12th in the Premier League.
Internal concerns reportedly focus on the noticeable dip in form of key forward Mohamed Salah.
Slot expects goalkeeper Alisson to be available for the upcoming clash with West Ham, with Florian Wirtz also close to returning.
Slot acknowledged the “different kind of pressure” facing the club but vowed to “keep fighting no matter how difficult it is.”
