Nottingham Forest secured a dominant 3-0 victory over Malmö FF in the UEFA Europa League group stage at the City Ground on Thursday night, strengthening their position for a play-off spot.
Goals from captain Ryan Yates (27′), Arnaud Kalimuendo (44′), and Nikola Milenković (58′) sealed the win—Forest’s third consecutive victory—in a match witnessed by the heroes of the club’s 1979 European Cup final against the same opponents.
Kalimuendo scored his first goal for the club since his £26 million summer move, while Milenković netted his first goal of the season.
Manager Sean Dyche praised the team’s growing momentum and “squad mentality” following the result, which moves Forest to within two points of the top eight for automatic qualification to the last 16.
The victory continues a strong week for Forest, who also defeated Liverpool 3-0 in the Premier League on Saturday.
