Uganda U17 head coach Sheryl Ulanda Botes says the Teen Cranes made clear strides during their five day assessment camp at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, which ended on Wednesday.
The camp was part of Uganda’s preparation for the January 2026 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers. Thirty three players took part, mainly from the FUFA Women Super League, along with others from the Elite League and schools.
Botes said the group settled in after a brief adjustment period and showed steady improvement in technical ability, tactical understanding and overall intensity. She noted strong enthusiasm from the players and highlighted their response to sessions focused on collision management both on and off the pitch.
She said the team showed a willingness to learn and added that the group carries real potential as Uganda builds toward the qualifiers.
