James Bogere has been named the November football winner at the Fortebet Real Stars Awards after a decisive run with the Uganda Cubs that pushed the U17 side to new ground.
The young forward delivered a dominant performance in the 2025 U17 AFCON qualifiers in the CECAFA zone, finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with seven goals, including multiple hat tricks, as Uganda booked its place at the continental event.
His most significant contribution came during the playoff against The Gambia U17. Uganda trailed by a goal before Bogere scored twice to secure a 2 to 1 comeback victory.
The result sealed Uganda’s first ever qualification for a FIFA U17 World Cup, which will be held in Qatar.
The award places him ahead of several senior players in the monthly vote, highlighting the confidence selectors have in his talent and upward trajectory.
At only sixteen, Bogere has become a key figure in Uganda’s youth football setup, with a blend of sharp finishing, calm decision making, and competitive drive that continues to draw attention.
