Bafana Bafana Captain Ronwen Williams has sharply refocused the team’s attention from the exciting 2026 World Cup draw to the immediate challenge: the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Williams cautioned against getting “ahead of ourselves,” stating, “The most important thing right now is Afcon.”
Following their bronze medal success last year, the skipper confirmed South Africa is gunning for another medal, urging maximum focus on their Group B campaign against Egypt, Angola, and Zimbabwe, which starts December 22.
Though excited by the World Cup draw—especially the opener against host Mexico—Williams insists AFCON deserves full respect and concentration.
