Egypt earned a morale-boosting 2-1 victory over Nigeria on Tuesday night, signaling their readiness just days before the Africa Cup of Nations kicks off.
The Pharaohs dominated the early stages, taking the lead in the 28th minute when the clinical Zizo set up Mahmoud Saber for a tap-in at the back post.
Nigeria struggled for rhythm but equalized just before halftime; a fumbled free kick by keeper Mohamed El Shenawy allowed Chidozie Awaziem to pounce from close range.
Egypt regained control shortly after the break. Mostafa Mohamed settled the contest in the 53rd minute, drilling home a powerful strike following more impressive wing play from Zizo.
