Head coach Juan Micha says Equatorial Guinea is ready to embrace the role of “giant killers” once again as they kick off their AFCON Morocco 2025 campaign.
Despite a “difficult” Group E draw against Algeria, Burkina Faso, and Sudan, Micha told CAFOnline.com that his squad is fueled by a positive mindset and a clear objective: reaching the knockout stages.
Micha has named an experienced 28-man squad, including the return of veteran leader Emilio Nsue.
Relying on discipline and “humility,” the Nzalang Nacional aim to replicate recent tournament successes.
“We know this group is very difficult,” Micha admitted. “But we believe in ourselves… we will strive to make our fans happy on the pitch.”
Equatorial Guinea begins its journey this Wednesday against Burkina Faso in Casablanca, looking to turn “quiet optimism” into early points.
