Alex Isabirye has rejoined BUL Football Club as team manager on a two year renewable contract, the club confirmed on Monday, with the experienced coach taking up his duties immediately.
Isabirye replaces Abbey Kikomeko Bogere, who parted ways with the Jinja based side twelve days ago. His immediate task is to steady a difficult Uganda Premier League campaign, with BUL currently 12th on the table with 10 points from 11 matches.
This marks Isabirye’s third spell at the Eastern Giants. He first served at the club between 2015 and 2016 before returning in April 2021 to guide the team through the final nine matches of the 2020 to 21 season. Four months later, he was handed a new two year contract and went on to lead BUL to the Uganda Cup title in the following campaign, securing the club’s first ever qualification to the CAF Confederation Cup.
Isabirye left BUL in March 2023 after being appointed by Vipers SC, where he won a domestic double of the league and Uganda Cup in the same season. His coaching CV also includes a Uganda Cup title with SC Victoria University and a league championship with URA FC.
The CAF A licensed coach has previously handled Nyamityobora, Kyetume, Busoga United, Tooro United, Express FC, Somalia Premier League side Horseed, and the Buganda Province team in the FUFA Drum tournament.
BUL said Isabirye’s backroom staff will be announced in due course. His first match in charge will be away to Calvary on January 7, 2026.
