Morocco’s Yassine Bounou has been named Best Goalkeeper of the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON 2025, adding the Golden Glove to his reigning CAF Goalkeeper of the Year title.
The “Atlas Lions” shot-stopper was nearly unbeatable throughout the tournament, keeping five clean sheets in seven matches and conceding only two goals.
Bounou’s heroics were instrumental in guiding the host nation to the final, highlighted by a dominant semi-final performance.
Though Morocco fell 1–0 to Senegal in a tight extra-time final, Bounou’s consistency and composure earned him the individual honors.
He finished the campaign tied with Senegal’s Édouard Mendy for the most shutouts, further solidifying his reputation as the continent’s top goalkeeper.
