Tottenham have opened negotiations with Liverpool for left-back Andy Robertson, who is out of contract this summer.
The 31-year-old Scotland captain has started only four Premier League games this season, losing his regular spot to summer arrival Milos Kerkez. Robertson is reportedly seeking consistent playing time ahead of the World Cup.
Robertson has won nine trophies and made 363 appearances for Liverpool since 2017.
Spurs manager Thomas Frank is seeking “experience and leadership” for a squad currently hampered by eight injuries, including a season-ending injury to veteran defender Ben Davies.
Despite just signing 18-year-old Brazilian left-back Souza, Spurs are prioritizing Robertson’s veteran presence.
Liverpool may recall Kostas Tsimikas from his loan at Roma if a deal is finalized. No agreement has been reached yet.
