Matheus Cunha scored a dramatic 87th-minute winner to hand Manchester United a 3-2 victory at the Emirates, handing Premier League leaders Arsenal their first home defeat of the season.
The Gunners took the lead in the 29th minute through a Lisandro Martinez own goal, but the momentum shifted when a Martin Zubimendi error allowed Bryan Mbeumo to equalize.
Early in the second half, United took the lead via a stunning strike from Patrick Dorgu that went in off the crossbar.
Mikel Arteta’s quadruple substitution looked to have saved a point when Mikel Merino bundled in an 84th-minute equalizer. However, just three minutes later, Cunha curled a magnificent 25-yard shot into the bottom corner to secure the win.
The Gunners’ lead at the top is cut to four points after three games without a win.
The victory moves Manchester United into fourth place.
Next Up, Arsenal host Kairat in the Champions League on Wednesday, while United face Fulham on February 1st.
