Vipers Face Northern Gateway Away as Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 64 Draw Is Made

Defending champions Vipers SC have been handed an away assignment against Northern Gateway FC following the release of the Round of 64 draw for the 52nd Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The draw was conducted on Wednesday at the Protea Hotel in Kampala and was overseen by former KCCA FC and Express FC midfielder Sheikh Umar Ssenoga, who guided the selection of fixtures for the next stage of Uganda’s premier knockout competition.

The Stanbic Uganda Cup officially began in November 2025, with preliminary rounds staged across FUFA regions nationwide. This season has recorded increased participation, with 64 teams registered, an improvement from the previous edition and a sign of the tournament’s continued growth across the country.

Vipers will travel north to face Northern Gateway in one of the standout ties of the round, while last season’s runners up KCCA FC will also be on the road against St. George Masindi FC in Masindi. Express FC have been paired with Pakwach Young Stars, while record winners SC Villa will visit Pallisa Hospital FC.

One of the most eye catching fixtures sees non league side Football Classroom host Uganda Premier League club Calvary FC in a classic underdog versus top flight contest.

The Round of 64 matches will be played between 4 and 10 February, with winners progressing to the Round of 32.
