The Federation of Uganda Football Associations has announced the appointment of the FUFA Academy Experts Panel to guide the ongoing football academy registration and licensing process.
FUFA said the panel is made up of experienced professionals in football development and will play a central role in ensuring academies meet the required technical and regulatory standards.
According to the federation, the panel will review submitted applications, conduct onsite technical inspections, and compile a final report identifying compliant and successful applicants for recommendation.
The panel is chaired by Mr Kalema Ronnie, with Mr Barente Ronald serving as vice chairman. Other members include Mr Ssentongo Abbey Donaca, Mr Kigongo Shafic, Mr Kiyingi Ayub Khalifan, Mr Kasakya Emmanuel, and Dr Kairungi S Otika Salma.
The appointment follows FUFA’s recent extension of the academy registration deadline to February 13, 2026, and is part of the implementation of Statutory Instrument 24 of 2025, which seeks to professionalise youth football development structures in Uganda.
FUFA said the work of the panel will help ensure that licensed academies operate within approved guidelines and contribute effectively to the long term growth of the game.
