Newly appointed Express Head Coach Baker Mbowa officially started his duties with the Red Eagles on Tuesday. Mbowa, who was appointed on Monday on a two-year deal, is assisted by Sulaiman Mutyaba. He is the third coach for Express FC this 2023/24 season, replacing Alex Isabirye, who resigned after going AWOL for days, and James Odoch, who was in charge of Express at the start of the season.
Mbowa participated in the Tuesday morning training in Kanyanya as Express prepares for their next Premier League clash against rivals SC Villa on Saturday at Wankulukuku.
“I bring good football to Express . I want to improve the team and take it to the next level because I have the potential. Every football lover will enjoy the football Express plays going forward,” asserted Baker Mbowa.
Express FC, currently 8th on the table with 29 points after 19 games, is winless in their last six outings, including the Uganda Cup elimination by BUL FC on Sunday.
Mbowa, who has previously coached at Proline FC and Soltilo Bright Stars FC, will be tasked with offering an immediate remedy and helping the team return to winning ways.
