Chelsea are set to bolster their defensive ranks by recalling Senegalese international Mamadou Sarr from his loan at RC Strasbourg, effective immediately.
The 20-year-old center-back returns to Stamford Bridge following a sensational run at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where he started in the final to help Senegal secure the title against Morocco on January 18.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the move on Monday, stating Chelsea view Sarr as a “top talent” and a “key part” of their long-term project.
Sarr reunites with Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior, who coached him at Strasbourg earlier this season.
After switching allegiance from France to Senegal in December, Sarr earned three caps during the AFCON tournament.
Initially signed by Chelsea in June, Sarr made a brief appearance at the FIFA Club World Cup before his loan spell.
