West Ham United have secured Chelsea defender Axel Disasi on loan until the end of the season for a £1.7m fee.
The 27-year-old Frenchman signed late on deadline day after the Hammers submitted a deal sheet to grant extra time for the paperwork.
Disasi arrives at a critical moment for manager Nuno Espírito Santo, with West Ham currently sitting third bottom in the Premier League and six points from safety.
Disasi had been frozen out at Chelsea, failing to make a senior appearance for over a year after being deemed “surplus to requirements.”
“I’m just ready to fight and to play games,” Disasi said. “The club is not at the place that it should be, but I’m here to help.”
