The Federation of Uganda Football Associations will launch a pilot Commercial Strategy for women’s football on February 10, 2026 at Imperial Royale in Kampala, as part of the FIFA Women’s Football Development Programme.
The event will run from 9am to 2pm and is intended to strengthen the commercial foundations of the women’s game in Uganda.
The initiative, supported by FIFA, focuses on boosting the commercial value of women’s football through structured sponsorship planning, marketing frameworks and sustainable revenue models for leagues and clubs.
Experts from FIFA’s regional office in Kigali are expected to attend the launch alongside stakeholders from government, business, media, clubs, cultural institutions, current and former players, plus potential sponsors.
FUFA Director of Communications Ahmed Hussein said the launch signals progress toward sustainable structures in women’s football, noting it reflects investment in governance, capacity building and commercial frameworks aimed at long term growth.
The federation says the programme is expected to create more opportunities for girls and women in football and aligns with FIFA’s Women’s Football Strategy 2024 to 2027.
Uganda has previously benefited from several FIFA development programmes, which FUFA credits with helping position the country as a reference point for women’s football growth in Africa, including league development and national team performance improvements.
